и опять про Гуччи и Тома Форда

More proof that yours truly was right looong time ago, when he predicted that T Ford would head for Hollywood after his departure from Gucci Group - as pagesix.com reports:
" ...Former Gucci honcho Tom Ford has some spectacular ambitions for his post-fashionista career. The super-savvy ex-designer intends to reinvent himself in Hollywood, and he thinks his Tinseltown takeover will be a piece of cake. Ford and boyfriend Richard Buckley were dining with pals in St. Moritz recently when Ford was overheard boldly predicting that he'd produce his first movie within two years. He then climbed even further out on the limb, declaring he'd snag his first Best Picture Oscar within four years."
US Vogue posted a dismal January ad page count, down almost 30% (!!) compared to last January (when the economics were far worse). At the same time, InStyle, who is strictly celeb-based but has the same advertisers, manages to score far better ad revenue numbers (the only ones that really count) from the same -or less- ad pages than Vogue.
What does all that mean? Perhaps that AW will too "go Hollywood" - after she helped to effectively destroy modelling by imposing inferior "models" on the market, she'll propably hit the eject button and move to a celeb mag (like Variety of Vanity Fair) - Tom Ford's departure at the pinnacle of his high fashion career is actually a good excuse for her to do the same. Unless of course she decides to help Hillary when she runs for the prez job.
Meanwhile, the usual suspects are pushing Stella McCartney for the top Gucci spot - their argument is probably the necessity for the Gucci head to be a known celeb, with a famous name - who cares about competent fashion designers nowdays? Not the "it girls" who buy the merch anyway.
AW wanted fashion shows to be "happenings", where (mostly "hired") media personalities and her cross-advertisers will be at the front row to attract media attention, which is all that matters - the actual fashions (and fashion models even less) are irrelevant in a voguey merch world
